we bought our dog cod liver oil pills, & his breath isn’t bad at all.
we were giving him the oil straight for a while, & it was kinda stinky then, but the pills don’t leave a lasting odor. you can also give them doggy breath treats. (c:
tuna fish is the best it has omega 3 in it witch is very healthy for you dog.i had a boxer with mange that where her hair falls out in patches all over her body.the vet said to give her costly medicine but some one told me to give her tuna juice and i did and her hear grew in healthier then be for and it keep away dry skin.it can’t heart to try!
I think it would depend what your intended use for the oil is. Flax seed oil is great for overall health & dry skin. High in the omega’s it is a good choice if you do not like the fish oils. Olive oil can be used as a stool softner for dogs with renal/kidney issues. I can’t think of anything I would vegtable or sunflower oil for. Maybe dry skin but I would go for the flax seed oil first.
If you’re just buying a low-cost store brand of dog food immediately switch to a higher quality, more natural diet dog food. A lot of the natural brands may included oils, including flax seed which is high in Omega-3 fatty acids as well as other nutrients and fiber. If the food was natural, high quality and provided complete nutrition then additional supplements may not be necessary, unless trying to aid in healing or strengthening the immune system to fight illness
See my profile for a link to more information on a possible choice I recommend that contains flax seed meal as a source for fatty acids or ask your vet. Good luck.

Gourmet Dishes with Greek Olive Oil
A dog fed a species appropriate diet of raw meaty bones, organ and fish will not need oils added to his food.
Dog food is crap. If it’s “nutritionally balanced”, why are you asking about adding oil?
